TACOMA, Wash. - Megan Crimmins, area manager at Ro Health, was presented with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award by Ohad Lowy and Mary Miller, south sound area co-chairs for the Washington Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee, in recognition of extraordinary support she provides her employee Army Reserve Sgt. Alissa Tolliver, a staffing consultant at Ro Health.  The award was presented in front of staff at the Ro Health office, which Tolliver, while deployed, was able to attend virtually.

“When Megan first hired me, she knew there would be times I was called to serve my country that would take me away from my job obligations there,” said Tolliver. “Even after getting orders for a 10-month deployment only 6 months after initially hiring me, she was there for me. Her endless understanding and support has helped me more than she will ever know.”

The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees who have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Miller. “By valuing the military service of their Guard and Reserve employees, employers are directly supporting the readiness and retention of our All-Volunteer Force, and our national defense.”

ESGR is a Department of Defense program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers.  This year, ESGR celebrates 50 years of excellence in support of the Reserve Components and their civilian employers. For more information about ESGR outreach programs or volunteer opportunities, call (800) 336-4590 or visit www.ESGR.mil/WA.
