ESGR in the News

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Supervisor Vickie Rohr recently received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award presented by Brian Shaw and D. B. Allison of the ESGR Committee for the extraordinary support she provides her employee Sarah Harris a sergeant with the West Virginia Army National Guard.

“Vickie goes above and beyond when it comes to working with her employees and their National Guard career,” said Harris. She has never complained when one of us must take leave.   Working in any pay office is difficult, let alone a pay office that is missing over half of its employees at any given time with six of the nine employees still serving.”

ESGR is a Department of Defense program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers.
