MONTICELLO, Minn. – Dave Hayes from Electro Industries received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award in a ceremony held recently. Minnesota Army National Guard Capt. Logan Benda nominated him. Dave is the Business Manager for Electro and is Logan’s supervisor.
Minnesota ESGR Committee members John Briegel and Bob Boone participated in the Award Ceremony.
Logan started his military career as an ROTC cadet at the University of Minnesota. Upon graduation with an electrical engineering degree he was commissioned into the Minnesota Army National Guard. He is qualified as a Blackhawk UH 60 pilot and is currently serving as the Company Commander of F Co 1-189 GSAB (Flight Control) located at Camp Ripley, MN. Logan has served in the Minnesota Army National Guard for six years. He has been deployed numerous times with the latest being to Iraq in 2019-20.
Logan noted that Dave has been extremely supportive which allowed him the time to be a military commander during quarterly training and annual training periods. Dave has also allowed him the time to maintain his Blackhawk UH60 flight certification.
Brother and sister John Seefeldt and Krista Smith are second-generation owners of Electro Industries, which was started by their father. As CEO, John signed a Statement of Support. All of this was done on the production floor so all of the employees of Electro Industries could participate in this special event.
ESGR is a program of the Department of Defense which seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
