LITTLE CANADA, Minn. – Joe Fowler, representing the Minnesota Building and Construction Trades Council as their President, signed the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Statement of Support on recently.
Minnesota Building and Construction Trades Council is the advocate voice of the union construction workers supported by the eight councils representing the trade industry across Minnesota. With 70,000 members and 70 years of service, the Minnesota Building and Construction Trades Council reinforced their commitment to the Guard and Reserve by signing the ESGR Statement of Support.
After a productive day of educational briefings by the Chief of Staff of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, Dave Bellefeuille; the past chair of the Minnesota Association of County Veterans Service Officers, Greg Peterson; the regional representative of Helmet to Hardhats, Bill Mulcrone and the Minnesota Beyond the Yellow Ribbon initiative, Annette Kuyper; the Minnesota Building and Construction Trades Council initiated a critical step in their action plan to join the over 300 businesses and communities as a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon organization. Joe Fowler stressed many times during the event the importance of how the area councils representing the around Minnesota are ready to support the dedication of the Guard and Reserve members.
