ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Dean Deanna Stentiford of St. Petersburg College, received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Department of Defense Patriot Award for the exceptional support she provides to members of the Guard and Reserve that work for the organization.

The award was requested by U.S. Air Force Reserve Chief Master Sgt.  Ralph Sibbio and was presented to Dean Stentiford by Vice Chair Florida ESGR Committee, Roger Trout, and Florida ESG volunteer coordinator Colleen Trout.

“Dean Stentiford sets the standards for being an exceptional leader and supporter of my military reserve obligations,” said Sibbio.  “I have been with the college for over 10 years and have been called away for scheduled and unscheduled deployments. For example, I was asked on short notice to be a member of the command staff and oversee operations in New York City during the height of the pandemic. She was fully supportive of me as she always has been during her time as Dean. She epitomizes the meaning of a supportive and caring leader for those who serve this great nation.”

ESGR is a Department of Defense program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members in the Reserve and National Guard through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities that increase awareness of applicable laws.  ESGR volunteers provide free education, consultation, and if necessary mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees. ESGR will continue to be the informational agency for the employers of citizen warriors.
