ELK RIVER, Minn. – Cpl. Marshall Stevenson of the Minnesota Army National Guard, 175th Forward Support Company, presented two Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriotic Employer Awards to Pete McDonald owner and John Anderson supervisor of Midwest Electric and Generator.
Stevenson stressed the significant support he received by the organization as over the last year he has experienced various short notice call ups to serve his state and country. Both Pete and John knew the challenges of a drilling guard member but realized the talents Marshall brought to the organization as a dedicated hard worker. Pete and John also communicate to the other employees their military friendly position in supporting Marshall as a citizen soldier.
The awards were presented Jan. 26 in recognition of their ongoing strong support of Stevenson. The awards were presented by Minnesota ESGR Stat Chair Thomas Simonet, on a day when the local temperature hovered at 15 degrees below zero.
ESGR is a Department of Defense program which seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
