ESGR in the News

ROSEMOUNT Minn. – U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Richard Fenton was deployed and could not personally present the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award to his employment supervisor.

Although, he greatly appreciated the support of his direct supervisor, Bill Mcelmury, and also made it very clear that this award represented the many at Dakota Unlimited who supported him and his service obligations throughout the organization.

The award was given on Nov. 12 at the main office of Dakota Unlimited in Rosemount, and was in recognition of Mcelmury’s support of Fenton, and his service to the U.S. Army Reserve.

Fenton stated, in his correspondence, that he was very appreciative of the support and assistance, especially during his deployments, and wanted to honor his foreman for going far above and beyond. Also present was Dr. Everett Doolittle, ESGR Ombudsman/Minnesota Committee member along with about twenty members of Dakota Limited and the General Manager Joe Ecker.

ESGR is a Department of Defense program which seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value military the service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
