BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – The 15th Annual Minnesota Veterans Career Fair was held Nov. 3 at the Earle Brown Event Center in Brooklyn Park. Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve was invited to participate as an exhibitor and distribute information to Minnesota employers and service members in attendance.
Produced by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, this annual event is the largest veterans career fair in the state. It typically attracts upwards of 1,000 career seeking veterans, and more than 150 great Minnesota businesses. In addition, volunteer human resources staff from participating employers provided resume critique' and interviewing advice to the job seekers in attendance.
Jim Finley, Minnesota ESGR Employer Outreach Director commented that "Career Fairs like this are a perfect opportunity for ESGR to connect with our two primary audiences; Veterans and business, at the same time.”
As a valued partner, Minnesota ESGR has participated in most all of these Veteran Career Fairs, and ESGR staff provides annual briefings to Veterans Employment staff at DEED.
