LANSING, Mich. - Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) Director Heidi E. Washington accepted the 2021 Pro Patria Award from the Michigan Committee for ESGR last week. Presenting the award was State Committee Chair Gary Aten.
The MDOC was awarded for their support of National Guard and Reserve employees. This is the department’s second Pro Patria award. This year, the department was nominated by Chief Warrant Officer 4 Ed Mize who is an ESGR volunteer.
In addition to these two awards the Department of Corrections has been nominated three times as the Michigan Committee’s selection for the Public Sector category of the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award and was a finalist.
