LANSING, Mich. – Michigan ESGR East Area Chair Paul DeSander was presented with a Public Service Commendation Medal from the Department of the Army Nov. 6. Paul has been an ESGR volunteer since December 2003 and an integral part of the executive committee. We celebrate Paul for his outstanding service to this country, the Michigan ESGR committee, and service members!
The award states, “For outstanding performance between 1 February 2021 to 31 December 2020 as an Army Reserve Ambassador for the State of Michigan, 88th Readiness Division. Mr. DeSander reached out to soldiers and their families during the difficult times of deployments and assisted with the welcome home ceremonies while facilitating community support. He maintained regular contact with local recruiters and the commanders they worked for. His dedication to the mission set forth by the Chief, Army Reserve is worthy of the highest praise and we are honored to have had him on our team. Mr. DeSander’s performance is in keeping with the highest traditions of public service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 88th Readiness Division and the United States Army.”
