Berwyn, Pa. – Pennsylvania Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense program, announced today that Amring Pharmaceuticals was honored with a Seven Seals Award in recognition of extraordinary support of its employees serving in the Pennsylvania Guard and Reserve.
According to Wes Craig, Southeast Pennsylvania Area Chair and State Chair Emeritus, “The Seven Seals Award is the broadest and most inclusive award given by ESGR and is presented at the discretion of the State Chair or by ESGR senior leadership. The award is presented in recognition of significant individual or organizational achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission.”
Army Reserve Capt. Mussafer Mohammed nominated Amring Pharmaceuticals for the award.
Amring Pharmaceuticals CEO Daniel Carbery accepted the Seven Seals Award from Craig. Amring, a provider and distributer of genetic pharmaceuticals, is a proud supporter of the men and women serving in our nation’s military, according to Craig. Carbery stated: “we provide 30 days of paid military leave and then offer differential pay for every day of service thereafter.” Carbery added that he and the entire company are very supportive of Mohammad’s military service and “pitch in” to cover his clients whenever he is on military leave.
Craig also noted that the company ensures employees on travel return to their home office to end a work week. Early return to the office combined with time off on Friday afternoons enables service members time to prepare for military duty. Craig attributed the pay benefits and generous time off to Carbery’s familiarity with the sacrifices experienced by service members; he served as a Field Artillery Officer for eight years in the Maryland Army National Guard.
ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. ESGR facilitates and promotes a cooperative culture of employer support for National Guard and Reserve service by developing and advocating mutually beneficial initiatives, recognizing outstanding employer support, increasing awareness of applicable laws and policies, resolving potential conflicts between employers and their service members, and acting as the employers’ principal advocate within DoD.
