ORD, Neb. – Supervisor Jen Sandoz, Valley County Health Systems, received a Patriot Award Aug. 7 from Brian Magiera, a Nebraska Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve volunteer in recognition of outstanding support of her employee serving in the Guard and Reserve.

Sandoz was nominated for being highly supportive of the Nebraska Army National Guard by her Reserve Component employee, Sgt. Matthew Graves.

Graves noted Sandoz has been extremely supportive of his military duty and “totally understand when I have to leave for schools or training.” He additionally stated she always keeps in informed via email or other communications to keep him up to date.

“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Magiera in his presentation. “Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units, and it’s a pleasure for me to recognize Jen Sandoz and Valley County Health Systems with this award.”

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
