ANAHEIM, Calif. – Sureya Atoura was presented with a Patriot Award recently by Irwin Trester, California Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve in recognition of extraordinary support of her Reserve Component employee.
Atoura was nominated for being highly supportive of the California Army National Guard by his Reserve Component employee, Staff Sgt. Rexwalter Gadia.
Gadia stated: “Sureya understands the necessity to take time off for military duty. Sometimes, the unit will have last minute changes to the drill schedule, and she has always been flexible and allowed for the time off without question. She even understands that when I work a full work week then have a drill weekend, she has given me the choice to continue back to work when drill ends or to take a day or 2 off, so I don’t get burnt out. I also had an additional ten-day training mission about 2 weeks after annual training, and she was accommodating and gave me that time off without questions again. Sureya’s support of the military and my military duty is outstanding and deserves recognition.”
